The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has arraigned three suspects, including two children of businessman Adimike Godwin, over the alleged murder of their father in the Guzape area of Abuja.
The suspects—Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany, and Comfort Ajibade—were brought before High Court 13 of the FCT on multiple charges following the conclusion of police investigations into the killing.
According to a statement issued on Monday by the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, SP Josephine Adeh, the suspects were charged after a comprehensive investigation ordered by the Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Muhammed Sanusi.
The incident occurred on May 15, 2026, when the Guzape Divisional Headquarters received a distress call from a relative of the deceased, who reported that repeated attempts to reach him had failed.
Police detectives who responded to the residence reportedly found Adimike Godwin lying unconscious in his room with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to Karu General Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by medical personnel.
The police said five persons, including the deceased’s driver and gateman, were initially arrested during the investigation. However, after reviewing the evidence, only Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony, Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade were charged before the court.

According to the charge sheet, the three defendants are facing a four-count charge bordering on criminal conspiracy to commit culpable homicide, culpable homicide, and offences under the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
The police alleged that all three suspects conspired to commit culpable homicide leading to the death of Adimike Godwin.
In addition, Adimike Odirachukwu Anthony was separately charged with allegedly entering into a same-sex civil union, while Adimike Chinyere Stephany and Comfort Ajibade were jointly charged with a similar offence under the provisions of the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act.
The court adjourned the matter until September 30, 2026, for further proceedings and ordered that the three defendants be remanded at the Suleja Correctional Centre pending the hearing of the case.
The FCT Police Command said it remains committed to ensuring justice for victims of crime while respecting the constitutional rights of all parties throughout the judicial process.
In its statement, the command assured residents of the Federal Capital Territory that it would continue to investigate and prosecute criminal cases diligently in accordance with the law.
The suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty by the court.
