A farmer who recently offered to donate yams to popular Nigerian content creator Peller for his upcoming wedding has responded to critics questioning his decision.

In a video shared online, the man explained that his gesture was simply a way of appreciating Peller for previously supporting his farming business with ₦500,000.

Fan responds to critics

Addressing those who asked why he was not giving the yams to people in his community instead, the farmer said they had overlooked Peller’s generosity towards him.

“For those of you saying why I wan give Peller yam, why didn’t I give people wey need am for my community. When Peller gave me ₦500k during livestream that year, none of you said anything about it, but I want to show gratitude by giving him yam for his wedding, una now start to dey talk.”

“He helped me build my business” – Fan claims

The fan revealed that the ₦500,000 Peller gifted him became part of the money he invested in his farming business.

“The ₦500k wey Peller give me for livestream that time is part of what I used to invest for this farming business. That’s the reason.”

“He gave me the money so I employ some people for the farming business. Now yam is out in abundance.”

The fan stressed that he was not giving the yams away for free but was simply returning the kindness Peller had shown him.

“That’s why I want to give Peller the yam. Not that I want to give him for free. Hin too don do before, he wan take. You understand how life work,” he stated.
