Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo of Kogi state has been invested as the patron of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) Special Marshals in the state.
He reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening road safety governance and support of the corps’ operations.
The investiture, performed by the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, at the Government House in Lokoja, also featured the donation of 10 electric patrol motorcycles by the Kogi state government to enhance traffic management, enforcement activities and emergency response across the state as stated in a statement signed by Osondu Ohaeri in Abuja, Monday.
Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of the NYSC, the Corps Marshal described the donation as a strategic investment that would significantly improve its operational effectiveness in Kogi state, one of Nigeria’s busiest transport corridors.
Governor Ododo dedicated his investiture as Patron of the FRSC Special Marshals to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the president’s leadership, unwavering support for the corps and commitment to strengthening institutions charged with protecting the lives of Nigerians.
The Corps Marshal commended the governor for accepting the responsibility of serving as Patron of the Special Marshals and for demonstrating practical commitment to road safety through the donation of the electric patrol motorcycles.
He noted that the investiture further strengthens the partnership between the FRSC and the Kogi state government in promoting safer roads, improving traffic management and reducing road crashes in the state.
