Two outstanding boy soldiers of the Nigerian Military School (NMS), Zaria, have been recognised for their exceptional performance with the Major O.O. Odina Award for Excellence, sponsored by Green Lunar Nigeria Limited.
The presentation, held during the school’s 2026 Passing Out Parade, marked the second edition of the award, which was instituted to promote academic excellence, military professionalism, and leadership among graduating boy soldiers.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of Green Lunar Nigeria Limited, Mr. Olaniyi Odina, represented by the company’s Northwest Operations Manager, Mr. Samuel Saukut Habila said the initiative was established to encourage young soldiers to pursue excellence and prepare them for greater service to the nation.
Boy Sergeant Oduadu Dan received the award for Best in Academics, while Boy Private Oko Leonard was honored as the Best in Military Training.
The check was presented by Col CB Obida, the deputy commandant of Nigerian Military School Zarai, and Mr Samuel Saukut Habila.
The Major O.O. Odina Award for Excellence is one of Green Lunar Nigeria Limited’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at recognising outstanding achievement and inspiring future generations of disciplined and patriotic leaders.
