NIPSS SEC 47 Mourns Colleague, CP Hassan Gwani, Who Died in Egypt
Members of the Senior Executive Course (SEC) 47 of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, have expressed profound grief over the death of their colleague, Commissioner of Police Hassan Gwani, who passed away after a brief illness in Cairo, Egypt.
A delegation of participants from SEC 47 visited the deceased’s family at their residence in Asokoro, Abuja, to convey their condolences and sympathise with the bereaved family over what they described as a painful and irreparable loss.
Speaking on behalf of the delegation, the participants described the late senior police officer as an exceptionally humble, kind-hearted and resourceful professional whose warmth, dedication and spirit of camaraderie endeared him to colleagues throughout the course.
They recalled that CP Gwani was an active and committed participant in the programme, always contributing thoughtfully during academic engagements and readily supporting fellow participants whenever the need arose.
According to them, his calm disposition, professionalism and willingness to build friendships across professional divides reflected the leadership values that NIPSS seeks to instil in senior public officers.
The delegation noted that his untimely death had created a huge vacuum within the SEC 47 family, describing him as a dependable colleague whose contributions enriched both classroom discussions and interpersonal relationships among participants.
The condolence visit attracted members of various professional, security and community associations, friends, colleagues and sympathisers, who also gathered at the family residence to pay their last respects.
Those who spoke during the visit remembered the late Commissioner of Police for his exemplary character, selfless service and humanitarian activities, noting that he dedicated much of his career to promoting peace, public safety and community development.
Many described him as a compassionate officer whose commitment to humanity extended beyond the call of duty, touching countless lives through acts of kindness, mentorship and community service.
Prayers were offered for the peaceful repose of his soul, while sympathisers prayed for God to grant his family, colleagues and loved ones the strength and fortitude to bear the painful loss.
CP Hassan Gwani’s death has been widely described as a significant loss to the Nigeria Police Force, the NIPSS community and the nation, where he was respected for his professionalism, integrity and unwavering commitment to public service.
