The executive chairman of the Kogi State Internal Revenue Service (KGIRS), Dr. Sule Salihu Enehe, has urged Nigerian youths to embrace knowledge, innovation and entrepreneurship as pathway to self-reliance, adding that the future belongs to young people equipped with digital skills and creative thinking.
Enehe gave the charge while delivering the keynote address at the maiden International Conference of the Department of Business Administration, Federal University Lokoja, held under the theme: “From Idea to Scale: Building Resilient SMEs in Emerging Markets.”
Addressing participants at the two-day conference, which brought together academics, policymakers, business leaders, entrepreneurs, researchers and students to explore strategies for building resilient and sustainable small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in emerging economies, the KGIRS chairman urged students to see themselves as future employers of labour rather than job seekers.
He noted that technological innovation continues to reshape businesses and leadership across the world.
“The world is changing rapidly. Technology is disrupting traditional industries and creating opportunities for young innovators every day. Do not wait for the older generation to hand over leadership positions to you. Prepare yourselves and seize those opportunities,” he said.
