The Kano State Hisbah Board has arrested 19 youths over involvement in immoral activities following an operation that targeted suspects at a local facility.
The suspects comprise 12 women and seven men with Deputy Commander General of Hisbah, Mujahid Aminuddeen, saying some of those apprehended were not residents of Kano but had travelled in from other states.
Moreover the Commander General in his released statement expressed concern over the manner in which underage youths were being allocated rooms in hotels for immoral acts.
It was gathered on Wednesday that the arrests took place yesterday at a hotel identified as ICU in Nassarawa GRA, Kano.
According to Aminuddeen, investigations are ongoing to determine the culpability of the youths, after which appropriate legal action would be taken.
“While those found guilty would be charged in court, first-time offenders would be counselled, with their parents invited to take custody of them,” Aminuddeen stated.
