JUST IN: Police arrests PFIPC boss hours after bench warrant

The Nigeria Police Force has arrested Adeniyi Adeyemi, who allegedly posed as the Director-General of the non-existent Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), hours after a Federal High Court in Abuja ordered his arrest for failing to appear in court over allegations of forgery and impersonation.

His arrest came hours after Justice Mohammed Umar of the Federal High Court in Abuja issued a warrant for his arrest following an oral application by police counsel, Wisdom Madaki, after Adeyemi failed to appear in court for his trial over allegations of forgery and impersonation.

It was gathered that the self-proclaimed PFIPC boss was arrested by officers of the NPF on Tuesday, at his hideout in Osun State after spending weeks in hiding to evade law enforcement following widespread public attention over the case.
