Jigawa, ALGON introduce quarterly meeting to strengthen LGAs’ service delivery


 

The Jigawa state government, in collaboration with the Ministry for Local Government and Community Development, the Local Government Service Commission, and the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Wednesday, introduced a quarterly meeting for all staff of the 27 local government areas to improve performance and service delivery.

This was contained in a press statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Najib Umar.

The statement said the initiative is aimed at streamlining policy implementation and strengthening the management of the 27 Local Government Areas in the state. 

The statement added that  it is also designed to align the local government sector with the developmental priorities of the present administration under the leadership of  Governor Umar Namadi.

The resolution was announced by the permanent secretary of the ministry, Alhaji Muhammad Yusha’u Jaji, who represented the commissioner at a joint meeting of key stakeholders. 

He noted that the decision became necessary in view of emerging challenges within the sector, which require collective effort and coordinated responses for effective resolution.
