“I’m sorry” – Canada-based wife begs husband for forgiveness after celebrating mother-in-law’s death
Viral Canada-based Nigerian woman, Prophetess Ezinne Maryjane Nwanorue, has publicly apologised to her husband, Franklin Chimaobim Nwanorue, following widespread backlash over a Facebook post in which she celebrated the death of her late mother-in-law.
In a video shared online, Ezinne admitted she was wrong to publicly attack her husband’s late mother and appealed for his forgiveness.
Wife apologises to husband
Addressing her husband directly, she said:
“I am making this video to apologise to my husband; I should not have done that. I am apologising for what I did and I know and hope my husband forgives me for that.
“Honey, I am very sorry for posting your mother on Facebook. And I ask for forgiveness. Thank you so much.”
Controversial post sparked backlash
The apology comes days after Ezinne shared a funeral banner of her late mother-in-law, Comfort Chika Nwanorue, describing her as a “wicked witch” and writing that she should “rest in pieces in hell.”
In the now-viral post, she alleged that her late mother-in-law and other family members had worked against her and tried to frustrate her destiny.
The post drew widespread criticism on social media, with many users condemning her for celebrating the death of a family member.
Couple previously went viral
Ezinne and her husband had earlier attracted attention online after she asked him to publicly swear an oath of fidelity before relocating to join her in Canada.
In the viral video, Franklin stated:
“I confess, and I promise that if I come to Canada and cheat on you, let me die in the name of Jesus.”
Days later, Ezinne accused him on Facebook of breaking the oath by allegedly sleeping with a side chick.
