“I said I serve a living God” — Streamer Davrel recounts surviving Abuja attack that left team members shot

Popular Nigerian streamer Davrel has recounted surviving an alleged armed attack in Abuja after members of his team were reportedly shot during a robbery that also saw a vehicle stolen.

The incident drew widespread attention after the content creator claimed he escaped unharmed while others in his group suffered injuries during the attack.

Davrel said the group was travelling together when armed men struck, leaving his bodyguard bleeding from gunshot wounds. He added that he fled for safety, abandoning his phones and streaming equipment as he ran for his life.

Davrel shares terrifying experience

In one of his posts, Davrel wrote, “Tweeting this from my mumsi Samsung. Abuja is not a safe place. My friend’s 2025 Prado just got stolen, my hands are shaking typing this lol. My bodyguard got shot, as in he was leaking blood. I ran for my life. I left my phones. Left all my streaming gear. I ran for my life! Thank you Master Jesus for sparing me.”

In a follow-up post, he reflected on his survival, writing, “In a car of 4 people, two people got shot at, one person had a gun pointed at him, me I just see everything, hear everything, nothing do me, I said I serve a living God. My life is a testimony of God.”

He later shared a photo from a hospital with the caption, “God take charge.”

Story sparks concern online

Davrel’s posts quickly went viral, with many social media users expressing gratitude that he survived the ordeal while praying for those who were reportedly injured.

Others used the incident to renew concerns over security in Abuja and called for improved protection of residents and visitors.

As of the time of reporting, there had been no official statement from security authorities regarding the alleged attack.
