Flybird RPAS, the Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) division of Flybird Group, has proposed the deployment of intelligent aerial solutions to address operational challenges in Africa’s energy sector, highlighting the growing role of drone technology in improving safety, efficiency and asset management.
The proposal was presented during the 25th NOG Energy Week Conference and Exhibition held at the Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre in Abuja, where the company showcased its advanced drone capabilities alongside its expanding aviation services for the energy, infrastructure and industrial sectors.
Speaking at the event, the Chief Executive Officer of Flybird RPAS, Chanel Scott, said the company’s participation reaffirmed the increasing demand for intelligent aerial solutions within the energy industry.
According to her, the exhibition created opportunities to engage organisations seeking innovative technologies capable of enhancing operational safety, improving efficiency and strengthening asset management.
“We had the opportunity to engage with organisations seeking innovative technologies that improve safety, operational efficiency and asset management. The quality of conversations and partnerships initiated during the event further validates our strategy of delivering world-class RPAS solutions tailored to Africa’s evolving industrial landscape,” Scott said.
She disclosed that Flybird Group also held discussions with prospective clients and strategic partners on future collaborations covering drone operations, offshore aviation support, aircraft management and specialised aviation services.
The conference attracted participants from across the global energy value chain, including international oil companies, indigenous operators, government agencies, regulators, engineering firms and technology providers.
Discussions focused on the increasing use of drone technology for infrastructure inspection, environmental monitoring, operational safety, security surveillance, asset integrity management and data-driven decision-making.
Flybird Group also used the platform to outline its vision of building a fully integrated aviation ecosystem offering aircraft management, business aviation, offshore helicopter services, RPAS operations, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO), and aviation advisory services.
Group Managing Director of Flybird Group, Capt. Ahmed Borodo, said the company’s participation reflected its long-term strategy of becoming a comprehensive aviation solutions provider for Africa’s energy sector.
