The drone struck the Energos Winter, a floating storage and regasification unit owned by US-based Energos Infrastructure. The blaze then spread to the Greek-owned GasLog Salem.
Egypt’s petroleum ministry confirmed fires aboard a gasification vessel and a storage vessel but did not say they were caused by a drone. It said emergency teams brought the fires under control and reported no deaths or injuries.
The crews were evacuated and no damage to the port’s infrastructure was reported.
However, it is still unclear who carried out the attack as no group has claimed responsibility yet.
Separately, Tehran and Washington traded attacks, with CENTCOM confirming the conclusion of dozens of strikes against the IRGC. It was done in response to Iran’s missile attacks on US military centre and bases in Jordan.
