Former state chairmen of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), operating under the platform of the G-37 led by Hon. Cletus Obun, have reaffirmed their loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group also stated the need for greater unity within the party’s fold ahead of the 2027 general elections at a solidarity meeting held at the APC national secretariat in Abuja.
They met with the party’s deputy national chairman, Dr. Benjamin Obi Nwoye, and other members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
Speaking on their behalf, Obun noted that the former ACN chairmen had come to pledge their continued support for the APC leadership and congratulate the party’s newly elected national officers.
He described the visit as a demonstration of solidarity and commitment to strengthening the ruling party.
Obun also harped on the importance of respecting the contributions of the party’s founding members, pointing out that the sacrifices made by those who built the APC should not be forgotten.
He urged the new leadership to carry everyone along and promote inclusiveness as the party prepares for future elections.
The G-37 leader expressed confidence in the capacity of the party’s new national officers, praying for wisdom, courage and divine guidance as they assume their responsibilities.
