Nigerian music star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has shared how he navigates raising children from different relationships, revealing that some of his children have started asking difficult questions as they grow older.
The Afrobeats singer made the revelation during an interview with BBC, where he discussed the realities of balancing fame, fatherhood and family responsibilities.
Children ask about different mothers
According to Davido, his two eldest daughters, Imade and Hailey, have become curious about why they have different mothers and why they do not live with him.
He explained that these are natural questions children ask as they become more aware of their surroundings.
The singer also revealed that his public lifestyle sometimes leads to conversations at home.
Davido recalls daughter’s reaction
Davido recounted an experience involving his first daughter, Imade, who approached him after seeing him on television.
According to the singer, she told him she had watched him dancing with two women on TV, a moment that highlighted how closely his children follow his public appearances.
He noted that such situations require honest conversations as his children continue to grow.
Singer says he remains active in his children’s lives
Despite the challenges that come with his career and family structure, Davido said he makes a conscious effort to remain present in the lives of all his children.
The award-winning artiste has six children with different women. He and his wife, Chioma Adeleke, are parents to twins and previously lost their son, Ifeanyi, in a tragic incident.
His other children include Imade, Hailey Veronica Adeleke and Dawson Adeleke.
