Nigeria international Chibuike Nwaiwu has agreed personal terms with Premier League club Fulham as negotiations continue over a move from Turkish side Trabzonspor.
According to Foot Mercato, the 22-year-old defender has reached an agreement on a four-year contract with the London club, who are keen to strengthen their defence ahead of the 2026/27 season.
Fulham must now agree a transfer fee with Trabzonspor before the deal can be completed.
Fulham continue transfer talks
The Premier League side have reportedly made two unsuccessful offers for Nwaiwu, with Trabzonspor refusing to lower their valuation of the player.
The Turkish Super Lig club are said to be demanding at least €30 million before allowing the centre-back to leave.
Despite the rejected bids, Fulham remain on the table, determined to sign the Nigerian defender and are expected to continue negotiations in an effort to reach an agreement with Trabzonspor.
Defender impressed after January move
Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in January and quickly established himself as a regular in the team.
The centre-back scored three goals and provided one assist in 21 appearances across all competitions during the second half of the season.
His performances attracted interest from several clubs, with Fulham emerging as the strongest contenders for his signature.
