Premier League club, Brentford, have announced the signing of English footballer, Callum Wilson, ahead of the 2026/27 season kick-off.
Brentford informed that Wilson, who last featured for relegated West Ham last season, joined the club on a free transfer, signing a 12-month contract in transition to the West London club.
The club manager, Keith Andrews, said that Wilson’s arrival is good for the club, as he is known for his nus to score goals as well as his experience in the training ground.
”Callum is someone that everyone will be familiar with. He has been a Premier League goalscorer for such a long time ,” Andrews said after the completion of the deal yesterday.
“He gives us more options in that area of the pitch and will help Igor Thiago and Kaye Furo with the experience he has,” he added.
The new signee said, ”It’s nice, it’s amazing, I’m grateful for the opportunity.
”Andrews told me about his ambition for the club and what his ambitions and desires are, and I felt I could add quality to that. I liked the feel and togetherness of the squad.
”I’m here to push and compete. It’s not you and me, it’s the togetherness, and there are other strikers in the building as well. If we perform and push each other, we can help the team push forward, and that’s the key,” Wilson mentioned.
The 34-year-old continues his stint in the English top-flight division having already played for West Ham, Newcastle and Bournemouth, scoring 95 Premier League goals. He has nine caps for the English national team between 2018 and 2023, scoring twice and featuring at the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
