Barcelona are set to complete the signing of German forward Karim Adeyemi after finalising an agreement with Borussia Dortmund, with the player expected to undergo a medical examination on July 15 before his official unveiling a day later.
According to transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, the Catalan club have completed negotiations with Dortmund and are now preparing the final steps before confirming the transfer.
Adeyemi is expected to sign a long-term contract that will keep him at Barcelona until June 2031.
Transfer agreement finalised
Barcelona have agreed to pay Borussia Dortmund a guaranteed €22 million for the 24-year-old, while the German club could receive an additional €9 million through performance-related bonuses.
As part of the agreement, Dortmund have secured a 35 per cent sell-on clause, allowing them to benefit financially from any future transfer involving the Germany international.
The transfer follows weeks of discussions between both clubs, with Barcelona successfully reducing the guaranteed transfer fee while Dortmund negotiated favourable conditions for any future sale.
Adeyemi has also reached an agreement on personal terms ahead of his move to Spain.
Medical and presentation planned
The forward is expected to arrive in Barcelona next week to complete his medical tests before signing his contract.
If everything proceeds as planned, Barcelona will officially present Adeyemi to supporters and the media at Spotify Camp Nou on July 16.
The Germany international is reportedly set to earn a fixed net salary of €6 million per season under his new contract.
Barcelona believe Adeyemi’s pace and attacking qualities will strengthen Hansi Flick’s squad as the club prepares for the new campaign.
