Operatives of the Hadin Kai military have arrested a Sudanese man as well as Ghanaian woman who have been accused of perpetrating criminal activities which have created massive unrest on residents in the area.
The army, while identifying the arrestees as 32-year old Sudanese Musa Fashir, said to be a terrorist fighter and facilitator, as well as Mary Florence, 36, an alleged illegal immigrant, said that they were arrested following an enforcement by troops of the 115 Task Battalion as part of its ongoing intelligence-driven strategies in the fight against insurgency.
The military released a statement disclosing that its operatives made way to Askira/Uba Local Government Area yesterday at about 11:48am, and nabbed the duo who are now in custody, as said that the Acting Information Officer, Muhammed Goni.
Goni, on Monday, said that the accused are undergoing profiling and interrogation to establish their identities, determine the extent of their activities and also ascertain any possible links to terrorists or transactional criminal networks.
He added that the group would further demonstrate effectiveness of operation in foiling terrorists and their collaborators in the Northwest.
Goni also stated that Hadin Kai remains resolute in its mandate to neutralise terrorism and dismantle their networks and support networks.
He encouraged the residents to continually support the Hadin KAI by providing timely and credible support to security agencies in as part of their efforts to ensure restoration of lasting peace, security and stability in the area.
