Abuja: Mabuchi residents groan over water scarcity

The residents of Mabushi under the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC) have lamented their inability to access potable water for almost six months.

While baring his mind over the incident, a resident, Mr Godwin Jacob said he struggles to get water on a daily basis, adding that more than anything else, the community needs water.

Another resident, Mrs Blessing John attributed the situation to ongoing road construction in the area, adding that complaints have been laid and the water board gave assurance to look into our complaints.

She said: “The FCT water board told us that water will be back after the construction because as we speak, we usually go begging people from the estate for water every morning and evening.”

Mr Bash and Mr Temple, also residents, said shortage of water is a big problem in Mabushi.  He said some of them depend on rain water to survive.

“What happens if the rain stopped today?” he asked.
