Abia Gov. intervenes in Ngozi Nwosu’s medical appeal

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has approved the payment of the first phase of medical expenses for veteran Nollywood actress, Ngozi Nwosu, following her public appeal for financial assistance to undergo multiple surgeries.

The intervention comes days after the 62-year-old actress, an indigene of Abia State, disclosed that she requires three surgeries estimated to cost about ₦30 million.

The governor’s Senior Special Assistant on Tourism and Entertainment, Martins Justice, announced the development on Wednesday in a post on his social media page.

“His Excellency @alexottiofr has just stepped in on the health issues of our Nollywood legendary actress, Ngozi Nwosu, to approve the first part of her medical bills,” Justice wrote, commending the governor for the timely intervention.

He explained that the approval covers only part of the actress’s medical expenses and appealed to Nigerians to continue supporting her treatment.

“While we sincerely appreciate His Excellency, we still appeal to kind-hearted Nigerians to please support her in any way possible,” he added.

Justice also expressed the appreciation of the creative industry to the governor, writing: “On behalf of the creative industry, we all thank you immensely, my leader. Ndewo sir.”

Nwosu’s appeal has attracted widespread sympathy, with the governor’s intervention expected to ease part of the financial burden as she prepares for the surgeries.
