World Cup 2026: Three Countries Eliminated After Group Stage Defeats

At least three countries have been eliminated from the 2026 FIFA World Cup after failing to secure enough points to continue in the tournament.

Tunisia, Haiti and Turkey are the first teams confirmed to have exited the competition.

Tunisia knocked out after Japan defeat

Tunisia became the latest side to be mathematically eliminated following a heavy defeat to Japan.

The Carthage Eagles suffered a 4-0 loss at Estadio Monterrey in Guadalupe, leaving them without a point after their opening two Group F matches.

The result ended Tunisia’s hopes of reaching the next stage of the tournament.

Before the defeat to Japan, Tunisia had already suffered a 5-1 loss against Sweden.

Final match remains for Tunisia

Although Tunisia can no longer qualify, the North African side will still play their final group match against the Netherlands.

The game will serve as Tunisia’s last opportunity to finish their World Cup campaign with a positive result.

Meanwhile, Haiti and Turkey also joined Tunisia among the teams eliminated from the tournament after their results left them unable to progress.
