Championship club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, have sacked head coach, Rob Edwards, after seven months in charge and relegation from the Premier League.
Wolves ordered an outright dismissal of Edward and his assistants, Harry Watling and Paul Trolollope, disclosing that the development takes immediate effect, adding that a search has begun for a new manager as they aim for a quick return back to the top flight.
The 43-year-old tactician took charge at Molineux in November, replacing Vitor Pereira on a three-and-a-half year deal, but was unable to prevent the club from dropping down to the Championship after eight years in the top flight.
Wolves finished bottom of the Premier League, 21 points from safety, with Edwards winning five and losing 16 of his 30 matches in charge in all competitions.
Following the news on Thursday, Gil Vicente coach, Cesar Peixoto, who guided the club to an impressive sixth-place finish in Portugal’s Primeira Liga last season, has been tipped to replace the outgone manager at the club.
The team has also increased beefed up their squad with the incoming of Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez, who both arrived this week.
