National Chairman of People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Dr Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, says the party will prioritise transparency, accountability and service to the people if it wins the 2027 presidential election.

Baba-Ahmed, a former Spokesman of Northern Elders’ Forum, made this known in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja on Sunday.

He said that the party was determined to break what he described as `the culture of impunity and abuse of public trust’ that had characterised governance in the country.

According to him, PRP’s government will be held to higher ethical standards and account for every kobo of public funds entrusted to it.

“The way we intend to do everything will be transparent and honest.

“We will comply with the laws and will not seek unfair advantages over the opposition,” he said.

Baba-Ahmed also said that the party would focus on rebuilding public confidence in leadership by ensuring that public resources were used strictly for education, healthcare, security and infrastructure.

He added that PRP would demonstrate that it was possible to have leaders who are competent, patriotic and committed to solving national problems.

The national chairman said that the party’s long-term vision was to create a new political culture where integrity and performance, rather than wealth and influence, would determine political success.

“We want to show Nigerians that honest leadership is possible and that government can work for the people,” he said.(NAN)
