The US military said it carried out self-defence strikes on an Iranian military facility on Qeshm Island after Tehran launched ballistic missiles and drones across the Gulf region on June 2.
US Central Command (CENTCOM) said American and partner forces intercepted three Iranian missiles headed for Bahrain, while two others fired toward Kuwait failed before reaching their targets.
US forces also shot down three attack drones that were approaching civilian shipping lanes. No American personnel were injured, according to CENTCOM.
