Tunisia have appointed experienced coach Herve Renard as their new head coach following the dismissal of Sabri Lamouchi after their opening match at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Lamouchi was removed from his position after Tunisia suffered a heavy defeat against Sweden in their Group F opener.
Renard Takes Charge Immediately
Renard is expected to arrive in Mexico and begin work with the team as Tunisia prepare for their next World Cup fixtures.
The French coach brings extensive international experience, having managed several national teams across different continents.
World Cup Experience
Renard previously led Morocco at the 2018 World Cup and guided Saudi Arabia during the 2022 tournament.
During his time with Saudi Arabia, he masterminded a famous victory over eventual champions Argentina in the group stage.
Successful African Football Career
The 57-year-old has also enjoyed success in African football, winning the Africa Cup of Nations with Zambia in 2012 and Ivory Coast in 2015.
He has also managed France’s women’s national team at the 2023 Women’s World Cup.
