Tinubu surrounds himself with second-class, low-level people – Osinbajo’s ex-aide

Laolu Akande, former media aide to ex-Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, has berated President Bola Tinubu over the kind of people he surrounds himself with in his government.

Akande disclosed that Tinubu surrounds himself with second-class, third-class, low-level people.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise, the former vice presidential spokesman said Tinubu is not getting the right counsel.

He said: “The kind of people a leader or the president surrounds himself with, I have said this several times, that one of the problems with our president today is that he has managed to surround himself with second-class, third-class, low-level people.

“And that is the problem because he is not getting the kind of counsel he needs, so if people are talking rubbish about political opponents and enemies, who cares who is doing it.

“Whoever is doing it is a criminal and the state exists to go after a criminal and bring them to justice; that is what we care about and not people telling the president or how Fayose behaves irresponsibly on TV, that’s not our business.”

Laolu stressed that as the Commander-In-Chief, Tinubu should brave up to his responsibilities.

“Our business is that there is a crime, there should be punishment and that is why the president is called the Commander-In-Chief.

“There is a reason why that title is fixed to the president, the Commander-In-Chief; there shouldn’t be anybody that the president can’t tackle for the security of the country.

“We have a president who has the pedigree in terms of governance, Mr President sit up.”
