Sheriff Oborevwori: I Don’t Think Any PartyIs A Threat To APC In Delta State

“My duty is to talk to our people, to deliver a candidate from Mr. President to the last person. So you don’t think the NDC is a threat? I don’t think anyparty is a threat to APC in Delta State.”

Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori has dismissed claims that rising opposition alignments in the state pose any electoral threat to the ruling party.

Speaking in an interview with ARISE NEWS, He insisted that the APC remains a dominant political force in Delta, regardless of recent defections and coalition movements involving key political actors across party lines.

“My duty is to talk to our people, to deliver a candidate from Mr. President to the last person. So you don’t think the NDC is a threat? I don’t think anybody is a threat to APC in Delta State.”

Oborevwori said the outcome of elections would ultimately depend on governance performance rather than political realignments or individual ambitions. “What will make people support your party is what you are doing, what you are able to do. In terms of infrastructure, we are doing well. In terms of security, we are doing our best.”

The governor maintained that his administration’s focus on infrastructure delivery. “What will make people support your party is what you are doing, what you are able to do. In terms of infrastructure, we are doing well. In terms of security, we are doing our best.”

He also played down the significance of emerging rival candidates within Delta politics, describing the governorship race as non-threatening to his camp. “Governorship is not an issue,. We talk about how to develop, Mr. President Bola Tinubu made it in the book. It’s my number one project. That’s the project. And I said, yes, yes, that’s my project.”

Oborevwori expressed confidence that the APC retains strong grassroots backing and unity across the state’s political structure. “We are very sure. The kind of confidence we have is the people we have. Its reforms and programmes are working very well in Delta State. I don’t know if other places, I don’t know, but I’m talking about Delta State working very well.”

He added that his political mission remains centred on delivering electoral victories for the party at all levels. “My duty is to talk to our people, to deliver a candidate from Mr. President to the last person. So you don’t think the NDC is a threat? I don’t think anybody is a threat to APC in Delta State.”
