A policy expert Dr. Temitope Musowo has described the recent disclaimer of Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC) and the appointment of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi by the Chief of Staff to the President, RT. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila as a clear effort in futllity to explain away the rot and corrupt tendencies in the presidency.
Dr. Musowo made the assertion during an interview session with newsmen on Thursday regarding the Chief of Staff’s disclaimer, he cited the fact that the 2026 Budget- a fiscal document, attest to the existence of the said office, because public funds was duly alloted to it right in the budget.
“The attempt by the Chief of Staff to Mr. President to turn facts upsidedown smacks of corruption at its peak. How on earth will you describe PFIPC as a purported body, non-existent and the appointment of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi as fraudulent?
“While I respect the authority of the Office of the Chief of Staff, the disclaimer is a deeply troubling, contradictory one, and deserving of urgent public clarification.
“Let us be clear, I alongside other clear headed Nigerians refused to be hoodwinked by this cowardly retreat. The Chief of Staff may issue denials, but the Nigerian people are not fools.
“We demand the truth, and not political handwashing. This denial is not just weak, but an affront to the collective intelligence of the Nigerian people, and to our amiable president.”
It will be recalled that earlier on Thursday RT Hon. Gbajabiamila made headlines on major news platform with the disclaimer of PFIPC and the appointment of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.
“Speaking directly to the COS disclaimer in the interest of the curious member of the public and the sanctity of the budget a fiscal document that in normal climes, runs a full year cycle, I want to raise these posers of concern that requires sincere answers from our Chief of Staff. Is this government that porous and corrupt?.
“If truly the office is none existent as claimed. How then was it captured in the 2026 National Budget Appropriation (pages 50 and 51)? Who inserted it? On whose authority?
“How come it passed through the National Assembly without objection or concerns raised by lawmakers in both the House of Representatives and Senate?
“How come the President signed it? (This is an affront to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.)
“How did a Council that is now being publicly disowned allegedly secure office accommodation within the Federal Secretariat in Abuja and operate openly for an extended period without intervention from any government authority?
“For nearly two years, this Council operated openly, carrying out activities tied to government objectives. Where were the objections? Where were the investigations? Where was your “disclaimer” back then? Your silence until now is an admittance of complicity.”
“In all fairness I dare say that the said disclaimer has had the effect of casting doubt on the reputation and integrity of Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi.
“Any attempt to tarnish the name, character, or contributions of an individual without a full and transparent disclosure of the facts would be unfair and contrary to the principles of justice and accountability.
“This is therefore a call on the Chief of Staff to provide clear answers to the aforesaid questions.
“The Nigerian people deserve transparency, consistency, and accountability from public institutions.
“Matters of this nature should not be resolved through public denials alone but through the full disclosure of verifiable facts.
“Until these questions are satisfactorily addressed, the public is entitled to seek clarification regarding the apparent inconsistencies surrounding this matter.” Dr. Musowo said.
