Peggy Ovire confirms divorce with Freddie Leonard

Nollywood actress Peggy Ovire has confirmed that she is seeking a divorce from her husband, Freddie Leonard, following allegations of infidelity amid growing speculation about their marriage.

The controversy gained momentum after photos surfaced online showing Leonard with another woman, an incident that sparked public discussion and brought renewed attention to reports of strain in the couple’s union.

Reacting to the development, Ovire took to social media in a series of emotionally charged posts on Tuesday, accusing Leonard of betrayal and claiming she later discovered evidence of an alleged relationship with the woman despite his earlier denial.

She explained that she initially accepted his claim that the woman was only a friend, but said she later obtained proof suggesting meetings between them in hotels and private apartments.

According to her, the situation became even more painful after she alleged that the woman had also attended their wedding.

Building on her claims, the actress stated that Leonard had previously failed to appear at a customary court session, instead sending a lawyer to represent him.

She said she has now urged him to attend the next hearing scheduled for June 23, 2026, where she insists she will present evidence to support her allegations.

“Please don’t avoid customary court for the 2nd time on June 23rd because I’m coming with receipts & let’s make this divorce done and dusted,” she wrote.

The couple, both prominent Nollywood actors, had previously drawn public admiration after their highly publicized wedding, though rumours of marital strain began circulating months into the marriage.

As of the time of this report, Freddie Leonard has not publicly responded to the allegations.
