The Oyo State Government has demolished a suspected kidnappers’ hideout linked to the abduction of Olaide John-Paul, the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her 12-year-old twin sons, following their rescue by security operatives over the weekend.
The building, a three-bedroom bungalow located in Lako Community along the Aiyegun–Anaye Road axis in Ibadan, was identified during investigations into the kidnapping incident.
Security sources said the house was allegedly used to detain the victims before they were rescued in a coordinated operation.
The demolition was carried out on Monday by officials of the Oyo State Ministry of Public Works and Transportation, in collaboration with operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, who provided security at the scene.
The government said the exercise is part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal hideouts and disrupt kidnapping networks and other violent crime operations across the state.
Videos circulating on social media showed a heavy security presence at the site as the structure was pulled down, with residents reacting to the development amid concerns over rising insecurity in parts of the state.
The state government reiterated that the demolition reflects its commitment to tackling insecurity, warning that any property found to be used for criminal activities would be identified and dealt with in accordance with the law.
