Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru of Ebonyi state on Monday swore in two new commissioners and a special assistants as the State Executive Council approved a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance and improving service delivery.
The swearing-in ceremony took place during the SEC meeting at the Government House, Abakaliki, where the governor charged the new appointees to justify the confidence reposed in them through dedication, loyalty and commitment to the administration’s Peoples Charter of Needs agenda.
Those inaugurated include Amari Omaka as Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Sylvester Nwenugwu Nwite as Commissioner for Environment, and Njoku Onyekachi Felix as Special Assistant on Youth Mobilisation.
The state government said the appointments were part of efforts to consolidate the achievements of the present administration and reposition critical sectors for enhanced productivity.
Governor Nwifuru also congratulated members of the SEC over what he described as their successful outing during the recent endorsement rally for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
As part of the cabinet reshuffle, Chidi Onyia was redeployed from the Ministry of Solid Minerals to the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, while Ngozi Obichukwu was assigned to Special Projects.
Also affected by the redeployment were Nwogo Obasi Ajuka who now heads Skill Acquisition, Okwu Oko Udu redeployed to Market Development, and Magnus C. Nkah assigned to the Ministry of Solid Minerals.
Similarly, Richard Ugo Idike was posted to Capital City Development, Sunday Elechi Inyima to Project Monitoring, while Victor Chukwu was assigned to Water Resources.
