The family of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, remains in distress as silence from the abductors deepens uncertainty over the safety of his younger sister, Olaide John-Paul, who was kidnapped alongside her 12-year-old twin sons, Peter and Paul, in Ibadan by unknown gunmen.
The 43-year-old woman and her children were abducted at about 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday while she was on her way to drop them off at school.
As gathered, since the incident, there has been no contact or demand from the kidnappers, while security agencies intensify efforts to secure their release.
An aide to the former minister, Femi Awogboro, said communication with the abductors has not been established, adding that the family continues to hope for a positive outcome despite the absence of updates from those holding the victims.
According to him, the family has not heard anything from the abductors since the incident and no ransom demand has been made so far. He noted that security agencies are working to trace the whereabouts of the victims and ensure their safe return.
Awogboro appealed for sustained efforts from security operatives, expressing confidence that the victims would be rescued unharmed as operations continue, with increased surveillance and intelligence gathering in the affected areas.
