Candidate of the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) in the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election, Duba Dodo, has dismissed reports circulating on social media claiming that he has withdrawn from the race.
Dodo described a list being circulated online, which allegedly indicated that he was no longer contesting the election, as fake, fraudulent and misleading.
The NDC candidate in a statement on Monday said the information was the handiwork of political opponents seeking to misinform the electorate and create confusion ahead of the by-election scheduled for June 20, 2026.
According to him, the report did not originate from his campaign or the party and should be disregarded by members of the public.
Dodo maintained that he remains fully committed to contesting the election and pursuing what he described as the mission of liberating and advancing the interests of the people of Nasarawa North.
He urged his supporters and residents of the senatorial district to remain calm, peaceful and focused on the electoral process, assuring them that his campaign remained on course.
The candidate expressed confidence in securing victory at the polls, adding that no amount of misinformation would derail the resolve of his supporters.
He also called on the electorate to verify information from credible sources and avoid spreading unverified reports capable of causing unnecessary tension ahead of the by-election.
The Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election is scheduled to hold on June 20, 2026, with political parties intensifying campaigns across the district.
