Lille appoint Ancelotti as manager ahead next season

French Ligue 1 club, LOSC Lille, have appointed the son of Italian tactician, Carlo, Davide, as manager as successor of departed Bruno Genesio.

Lille informed that Davide signed a two-year deal with the club expected to run till July 2028, as the side begins preparation for the 2026/27 campaign.

The management expressed that the 36-year-old’s appointment, just two weeks after Genesio’s departure, is in line with its keen interest in achieving its target for next season after finishing 15 points adrift of champions, PSG, in the 2025/26 season.

”I’m very proud and happy, ” the new appointee said after completing his switch on Monday.

”They are a serious, ambitious, competitive club who are regularly playing European football,” he added.

The move would make it the second managerial spell for Davide who spent six months at Brazilian club, Botafogo, last season.
