ADAMAWA State Independent Electoral Commission (ADSIEC) says it will distribute sensitive and nonsensitive materials for the conduct of the June 13 Local Government Council elections across the 21 LGAs in the state.
Mr Emmanuel Abba, Commissioner, Logistics and Field Operations, disclosed this shortly after the security meeting held ahead of the election in Yola on Monday.
He said the commission had put everything in place to ensure free, fair and credible elections that would produce elected Chairmen and councilors.
“Preparations have been concluded in the sense that all the materials that are expected are all on ground in the store both sensitive and nonsensitive.
“What remains is to share according to the various LGAs on Thursday”, he said.
He said the commission collaborated with the security agencies to ensure a hitch free elections.
“We just met with the security agencies and they will be with us on Thursday during the distribution of elections materials and provide security cover up to the end of the exercise,” he said.
According to him, 11 political parties fielded candidates to participate in the election.
Abba further called on the electorate to come out to exercise their constitutional rights and to be orderly.
“Once you are registered, you have your voters card you are eligible to vote candidates of your choice either a chairman or a councilor,” he said. (NAN)
