Nigerian singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as ‘Davido’ has challenged the All Progressives Congress, APC, to prove its popularity through ballot papers, not guns or weapons.
Davido threw this challenge in a post on his verified X handle on Thursday, condemning the attack on Accord Party Chairman.
He said the attack must be condemned and rejected by all, adding that political violence undermines democracy and scares voters away from polls.
He urged all Nigerians to avoid contributing to insecurity regardless of political differences.
“If the APC think they are popular, let’s settle it at the poll, not by guns or weapons,” he wrote.
Davido’s statement adds to growing calls for peaceful political engagement as the 2027 election approaches.
Recall that the chairman of the Accord Party in Osogbo Local Government of the state, Asimiyu Ajibola (Baba Isila) was shot by suspected political hoodlums on Wednesday night.
