Former Kano State Governor and leader of the Kwankwasiyya movement, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has expressed willingness to reconcile with Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf despite the political differences that have strained their relationship.
Speaking during an interview with BBC Hausa, Kwankwaso said he still holds affection for the governor and remains open to rebuilding their political relationship if Yusuf chooses to return.
The remarks come amid continued political discussions surrounding the future of the Kwankwasiyya movement and its influence in Kano State politics.
Kwankwaso Says Door Remains Open
According to Kwankwaso, he has not closed the door against his former political ally and would welcome reconciliation if the opportunity arises.
The former governor emphasized that political disagreements are not uncommon and should not permanently destroy relationships.

Kwankwaso explained that his relationship with Yusuf changed after the governor’s decision to leave the political platform that brought him to power.

He also argued that the movement deliberately selected Yusuf as its candidate to demonstrate its political influence and grassroots support across Kano State.
