Iran has presented key conditions it wants addressed before final agreement negotiations with the United States, including access to frozen financial assets and the ability to export oil.
Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, said significant progress had been made during discussions aimed at reducing tensions and creating a framework for a wider deal.
The minister stated that Tehran is seeking measures that would ease restrictions on its economy and energy sector.
Tehran seeks relief on oil exports
According to Araghchi, the discussions include possible arrangements for temporary waivers that would allow Iran to continue oil and petrochemical exports.
He said the move would help Iran regain access to revenue from energy sales and improve its financial position.
Iran is also pushing for the release of some frozen assets held abroad as part of the proposed measures.
Talks focus on reducing tensions
Araghchi explained that the negotiations are focused on addressing major issues between both countries while creating conditions for a broader agreement.
He added that easing restrictions on oil sales and financial access remains a major priority for Tehran.
“Restrictions on Iran’s oil sales would be eased through temporary waivers, making the way for Tehran to resume energy exports and receive related revenues,” he said.
The development comes as both sides continue discussions over steps that could shape future relations.
