The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has updated the official records of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC), making further changes that appear to strengthen the leadership structure associated with the faction backed by the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike.
The latest update on INEC’s official website shows that Ahmed Yayari has been removed as National Treasurer, while Daniel Woyengikuro is no longer listed as National Financial Secretary.
They have been replaced by Odeyemi Oladiran and Eyim Henry, respectively, both of whom are linked to the Wike-aligned bloc within the PDP.
According to the updated records, the changes further consolidate the positions of officials associated with the recognised leadership, as the removed officers were widely regarded as members of the Makinde-backed Turaki faction of the party.
Before this latest adjustment, INEC had already listed Abdulrahman Mohammed as the PDP National Chairman and Samuel Anyanwu as National Secretary, both considered allies of the Wike faction.
