Nigerian rapper Illbliss has called for greater unity among Nigerians, stressing that non-indigenous communities play vital roles in the economic growth of different parts of the country.
The music star made the remarks while discussing tribalism, coexistence and national development during a recent podcast appearance.
Illbliss Highlights Igbo Economic Impact in Lagos
Using Lagos as an example, Illbliss said the Igbo community has made substantial contributions to trade, commerce and business activities within the state.
According to him, the economic influence of Igbos in Lagos is significant and should be acknowledged rather than overlooked.
The rapper questioned why some people still make comments suggesting that residents who are not indigenous to a particular state should leave despite their contributions to local development.
Rapper Raises Concern Over Tribal Divisions
Illbliss also expressed concern that tribalism, ethnic rivalry and religious intolerance continue to affect Nigeria decades after independence.
He argued that Nigerians should be more welcoming toward one another regardless of ethnic or regional backgrounds.
According to the rapper, a stronger spirit of inclusion would help strengthen national unity and economic growth.
Call for a More United Nigeria
The entertainer noted that the country’s persistent ethnic and religious divisions remain a major challenge to national progress.
He urged citizens to embrace coexistence and mutual respect while focusing on the collective development of the nation.
His comments have since sparked conversations online about national unity, migration, and the role of different ethnic groups in Nigeria’s economy.
