A gang of Fulani herdsmen has killed a couple and one other person in a brutal attack on residents in a Plateau state community.
The groom identified as Titus Brigade and wife Rehab as well as one Laita Pius were said to be cultivating on their farmlands after which the terrorists invaded them and caused their death and also injured five others.
The incident happened yesterday at Tukur village, Kinat in Mangu Local Government Area,
a youth leader, Markus Lonkat, confirming it via phone call on Tuesday.
“To the best of our knowledge, the attack was unprovoked and we wonder why the barbaric act was carried out by the Fulani people who have lived with us here in Tukur for several years,” Lonkat said.
“We condemn this violence completely and call on security agencies especially the Operation Enduring Peace to be proactive in stamping out these attacks by the Fulani bandits,” he added.
Meanwhile, as of the time of filing this report, there has been no reaction to the attack by the Plateau state police or the state government.
