Former BBN housemate wins Lagos BOOT party assembly ticket

Popular comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Aderombi Martins, widely known as DeeOne, has emerged the flagbearer of the Boot Party, ahead of the 2027 Lagos State House of Assembly election.

Martins, an aspiring candidate for Ibeju-Lekki Constituency 01, secured the ticket of the political party after winning it’s primary election, his emergence announced in a post shared on Instagram yesterday.

The politician expressed gratitude to party members for entrusting him with the mandate to represent them, explaining that his candidacy was driven by a desire to serve the people of Ibeju-Lekki.

He pledged that if elected in 2027, his leadership style would focus on service rather than power, reflecting his commitment to grassroots representation.

Addressing residents of the constituency, he said, “To Ibeju-Lekki Constituency I, come 2027, by the grace of God, I will be your worker and not your boss,” promising a people-centered approach to governance.

His emergence highlights the growing trend of Nigerian entertainers venturing into active politics, as preparations intensify among political parties ahead of the 2027 elections, which are expected to attract keen interest across Lagos State.
