Former Bauchi Deputy Governor Audu Sule-Katagum Dies At 69

Former Deputy Governor of Bauchi State, Audu Sule-Katagum, has died at the age of 69.The former government official passed away in the early hours of Saturday, according to a statement released by Shamsuddeen Lukman Abubakar, who previously served as his digital and creative media aide.

The announcement described Sule-Katagum as a respected figure who dedicated his life to serving his community, Bauchi State and Nigeria.

Tributes as family confirms death

In the statement, Lukman expressed sadness over the loss of the former deputy governor and prayed for the repose of his soul.

The family also prayed for forgiveness of his shortcomings and for him to be granted eternal peace.

Sule-Katagum was later buried according to Islamic traditions.

Political career and public service

Before becoming deputy governor, Sule-Katagum served as Chief of Staff at the Bauchi State Government House.

He was appointed deputy governor in 2018 during the administration of former Governor Mohammed Abubakar.

He served in the position until 2019, contributing to the state’s political administration during that period.
