Personnel of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command have undergone an intensive one-day training programme on forensic and fraud investigation as part of efforts to strengthen investigative capacity, improve professionalism, and enhance the quality of criminal investigations.
The training, organised by the FCT Police Command in collaboration with HRH Erelu Dr. Pearl Ogbulu through Pearl Forensic Risk Advisory Services, was held on Monday at the Police Resource Centre, Jabi, Abuja, with the approval of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu.
Designed to equip participants with contemporary forensic and fraud investigation techniques, the programme focused on improving investigative competence, strengthening crime detection mechanisms, and enhancing prosecution outcomes within the criminal justice system.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the Commissioner of Police, FCT Command, CP Ahmed Sanusi, commended the organisers for their commitment to capacity building within the security sector and urged participants to maximise the opportunity to acquire practical knowledge and skills needed to tackle emerging and increasingly sophisticated forms of crime.
He noted that effective policing in today’s environment requires continuous learning, innovation, and adaptation to evolving criminal methods, stressing that professional development remains critical to efficient law enforcement and public safety.
The training featured a series of presentations and practical sessions covering key areas such as forensic investigation, fraud detection, evidence management, investigative procedures, and other essential components of modern criminal investigations.
Participants were also exposed to industry best practices and practical insights aimed at improving operational efficiency and enhancing the overall quality of investigations conducted by law enforcement personnel.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants received Certificates of Participation in recognition of their successful completion of the training.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to supporting initiatives that strengthen the capacity of its personnel, enhance policing effectiveness, and contribute to the efficient administration of criminal justice across the Federal Capital Territory.
