THE Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FCT FA) has announced June 19 as the final deadline for the registration of clubs participating in the 2025/2026 season of the FCT FA Division One League in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Secretary of the FCT FA, Haruna Ilerika, said on Tuesday in a statement in Abuja that the registration commenced on April 8 and to close May 30 but has been extended to June 19.
“This is to give clubs adequate time to complete their payments,” he said.
According to the Ilerika, the registration fees have been fixed at ₦150,000 for Division One clubs and ₦120,000 for Division Two clubs.
“Clubs are directed to make payments into the FCT FA account and evidence of payment forwarded, clearly indicating the name of their team.
“The Division One League will kick off on June 29, as no further extension will be granted for registration.
“The association warns that any Division One club that fails to meet the registration deadline will be automatically replaced.
“The FCT FA urges all affected clubs to comply with the registration requirements to ensure a smooth commencement of the 2025/2026 league season,” he said.
NAN reports that Sporting Dream Football Club emerged the winners of the 2024/2025 FCT FA Division One League.
They were crowned champions after defeating Golden Boys FC 2-0 in the final which was played at the Area 3 football pitch in Abuja.
The Division Two League saw One Touch FC claiming the championship title after beating FHA FC 3-0. (NAN)
