FCT FA issues deadline for league one team registration

The Federal Capital Territory Football Association has issued a deadline for clubs to participate in the region’s League One competition to register their teams ahead of the soccer competition.

The FA informed the sides that they have until June 19 as final deadline to make entry payments for the 2025/26 edition of the competition, disclosing that teams yet to register on or before the date would be found ineligible.

Secretary of the body, Haruna Ilerika, made the disclosure on Tuesday stating that the initial May 30 deadline, following the commencement on April 8, has now been extended, urging the Division One clubs to pay the stipulated N150,000 fee, as well as N120,000 for teams in the Division Two.

“Clubs are directed to make payments into the FCT FA account and forward evidence of payment, clearly indicating the name of their team,” said Ilerika.

“The Division One League will kick off on June 29, and no further extension will be granted for registration,” he continued, and sternly said, “The association warns that any Division One club that fails to meet the registration deadline will be automatically replaced

“The FCT FA urges all affected clubs to comply with the registration requirements to ensure a smooth commencement of the 2025/2026 league season,” he said.

Sporting Dream Football Club emerged as winners of the 2024/2025 FCT FA Division One League by defeating Golden Boys FC 2-0 in the final played at the Area 3 Football Pitch in Abuja.

The Division Two League saw One Touch FC claim the championship title after beating FHA FC 3-0.
