The ECOWAS Permanent Observer Mission to the United Nations successfully concluded a three-day retreat of election officers from ECOWAS Member States, held in New York in May.
The retreat provided a platform for consultations and coordination in support of ECOWAS candidatures ahead of forthcoming elections to United Nations organs.
Participants reviewed upcoming elections, exchanged perspectives on candidacies and outreach strategies, and explored ways to strengthen collaboration within the ECOWAS Group.
The retreat concluded with a renewed commitment to continued coordination and effective engagement in advancing ECOWAS representation within the United Nations system.
