National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has stated that the party provided its presidential candidate, Peter Obi, with a platform to pursue his 2027 presidential ambition.
Speaking during an interview on Arise Television, Dickson rejected suggestions that Obi or any other political figure was doing the party a favour by joining its ranks.
Instead, he argued that the NDC has built a political structure that continues to attract influential politicians from across Nigeria.
NDC Leadership Pushes Back Against Narrative
Dickson maintained that the NDC remains a viable political platform capable of competing at the highest level.
According to him, the party’s leadership worked collectively to position Obi and his running mate, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, as its standard-bearers ahead of the next presidential election.

The former Bayelsa State governor also highlighted the party’s growth before the arrival of Obi and Kwankwaso.
