THE Delborough Lagos has celebrated its Board Chairman, the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Nnaemeka Achebe (Agbogidi), on the occasion of his 85th birthday.

This is contained in a statement issued by its media consultant, Mr David Abakpa on Monday in Abuja.

Abakpa said the revered monarch, who is the 21st Obi of the Onitsha Kingdom, was honoured at a grand birthday dinner hosted by The Delborough Lagos.

He said the management and staff of the hospitality establishment paid tribute to the monarch in recognition of his leadership, contributions to nation-building and service to the hospitality industry.

According to him, the celebration came days after The Delborough Lagos welcomed Michelin-starred chef Sauro Bison to lead its DANI Restaurant in delivering a world-class dining experience.

Abakpa said dignitaries at the event included former President Olusegun Obasanjo, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, former Senator Ita Giwa and the National Democratic Coalition (NDC) presidential candidate for the 2027 general election, Mr Peter Obi.

Others were entertainer Charles Oputa, popularly known as Charly Boy, and several distinguished guests from different walks of life.

He added that highlights of the celebration included cultural dance performances by various groups and a colourful welcome ceremony organised by the staff of The Delborough Lagos in honour of the monarch. (NAN)
